Kerkhoff Excavating + Septic is based in Chilliwack, the heart of the Fraser Valley. although a provider of a broad spectrum of excavating services, their focus is in residential excavating and septic system design and installation.

Kerkhoff Excavating + Septic is owned and operated by Herman Kerkhoff. As a child, Herman and his brothers often went to work with their dad, building houses; helping with cleanup, shooting heights, and troweling concrete. As a teen, Herman worked many hours and several jobs allowing him to purchase his first piece of equipment at 17.

The first few thousand hours of seat time and experience were accumulated in the greater Vancouver area working for a backhoe dispatch. In the following years, additional equipment and machinery were added to Herman’s fleet, including a mini-excavator in 2006 and a low-bed semi in 2008. The biggest equipment upgrade was in 2009 when we introduced our Link-Belt excavator and entered the septic industry. Kerkhoff Excavating has since designed and installed many septic systems throughout the Fraser Valley.

And as the saying goes, “Like father, like son”, Herman now occasionally takes his son to work, and little Rowan is already aspiring to follow in his fathers’ footsteps.
